The Letter C Enhances Market Research through Successful FOIA Request

We are proud to announce that Letter C has successfully obtained vital information through a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request, augmenting their existing market research. The request, originally submitted by founder Desiré Greene, sought comprehensive details regarding the feedback collected during the fall of 2020 by the Division of Services for Children with Special Health Needs. This information directly supports the development of the 'Blueprint for Change'.

The 'Blueprint for Change' is a national framework designed to create a system of services where children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) can enjoy a full life and thrive in their communities from childhood through adulthood. The framework was developed in response to families of CYSHCN expressing that the current system of services isn't meeting their needs.

The data obtained through the FOIA request contained feedback gathered during a Fall 2020 summit with over 160 participants, including families, providers, researchers, government staff, non-profit organization staff, and others. The response to the request was a comprehensive Mathematica report, published by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, which was obtained by the Letter C in September 2023.

The Letter C also successfully obtained 129 pages of stakeholder comments earlier this month. With this information, the Letter C will be able to better support the 'Blueprint for Change', children with special healthcare needs, and their families, enriching their existing market research and informing their initiatives.

The Letter C continues to exemplify its commitment to transparency and accountability, demonstrating the power of the FOIA in obtaining crucial information to facilitate change and inform the public.
